Founded in 1858 by Edward Tyrrell, an English immigrant to Australia, Tyrrell’s family-owned vineyards span from the Hunter Valley to Victoria, producing a vast range of varietal and blended bottles. ‘Vat 1’ Sémillon’ is steel fermented, with no oak used in the process. The 2008 shows notes of toast & honey, with lemon-lime acidity, spice, and fresh fruit flavors meshing beautifully on the palate. Textured & thirst-quenching, with serious depth.
