Situated in Bramaterra, within the larger Alto Piemonte region, Tenuta Monolo farmed the volcanic soils of the region organically, with vines dedicated to Nebbiolo, Croatina, Vespolina, and Uva Rara. Monolo produced wines from 1982-2004 that went straight to library, finally made available. The 2001 oozes with flavors of dried fruit and spice, showing strong backbone and a persistent finish. Delicious with roasted meats and simple charcuterie.
