‘Wolfer Goldgrube’ Spatlese is weighty yet energetic and loaded with flavors of sweet stone fruit, orange blossom, quince, and crushed rocks. The wine’s richness remains balanced by nervy acidity and finishes with a glossy, lightning-like finish. Daniel Vollenweider started out with just one hectare of old vines in 1999 in the Middle Mosel. Today, Daniel’s holdings are still small (four hectares), and all work is done by him – a true one man show.
