Molana - Cup of Salvation Documentary wine
This is the legendary new wine featured in the new Somm 4: Cup of Salvation documentary. Named after the prolific Persian poet, the wine resembles its namesake emphasis on purity and elegance. It is fresh and playful on the palate with a strong sense of provenance due to the terroir the grapes were grown in.
Made from the ancient Persian varietal Rasheh, from vines grown in high elevation vineyards (1,480 m) on volcanic soil in Iran, smuggled out, and vinified in Armenia, this is the first wine made from Iranian grapes in almost 50 years. Extremely limited in production (only about 1,200 cases produced for the globe), and likely the only time it will be made, this bottle is a rare chance to experience wine history that we may never see again.
