Comtes Lafon
Lafon history runs deep in the village of Meursault and its roots go far beyond the region’s prestigious vineyards. For the Lafons, winemaking has always been more than just producing top-quality juice-- it’s a celebration of friends, family, and an undeniable sense of French joie de vivre. Back in 1923, when Jules Lafon was the mayor of Meursault, he invited 35 of his closest friends over for a post-harvest banquet dinner, which eventually became the first ‘Paulée de Meursault.’ As of 1984, Dominique Lafon took the reigns at the family estate, and after many years of leasing vineyards, slowly but surely brought all of the family’s 13.8 hectares of vineyards back to their name.
