Ronco del Gnemiz was established in the 1960s by the Palazzolo family, situated on the top of the hill of Rosazzo in Friuli. Clay and limestone-rich soils allow fruit to optimally ripen, while Adriatic breezes and mountain influence from the Alps keeps acidity high. This unique Italian Chardonnay was first bottled in 1981 and is credited with putting Ronco del Gnemiz on the map. Fruit comes from 60-year-old vines and is vinified on its lees in barrel with minimal batonnage. The wine is textured, creamy, and balanced by tons of natural acid.
